Bamboo竹材
Bamboo is strong, but also has great flexibility. The relatively long distance between its joints makes Japanese Madake bamboo durable and flexible, and this makes it the most popular for both interior and exterior parts, a wide variety of bamboo ware and products, and art crafts.
Features of Bamboo
Harvesting
We harvest three-year old bamboo from the mountains of Mera, Miyazaki Prefecture from autumn to winter. Bamboo harvested in fall and winter has great features and repels insects, making it the best material for furniture.
Removing Oil
Boil bamboo in a four meters long kiln to remove oil. As the oil is removed, the color gradually changes.
Drying
After the oil is removed, the bamboo is sun dried. It is then brought inside to age naturally for more than two years before being used to manufacture products.

Bamboo can be used in the garden or the house, and for many other purposes.
Three Sizes of Bamboo
We offer three different sizes of bamboo: 18mm – 29mm, 30mm – 38mm, and 39mm – 48mm diameters for different purposes.
